This years Pizza Contest: Sunday, April 17th, 2011!

Flancer’s Helps Wounded Warriors While Having Fun

Flancer’s Incredible Sandwiches and Pizzeria held a successful series of charitable events throughout April to raise money for The Wounded Warrior project. A beer and cigar pairing kicked off the month of fundraising, followed by a wine a cheese pairing. Raffle tickets for the main event were sold all month. The month culminated with Flancer’s Annual Pizza Eating Contest.

Jimmy Peng is this year’s winner. Jimmy polished off over 16 huge slices of Flancer’s delicious pizza in 15 minutes. Jimmy is a two time winner, taking first place in the 2009 competition. Also in attendance were Gilbert Mayor John Lewis and Miss Arizona Katy Bulkley. For his efforts, Jimmy won $500 cash.

Of course the biggest winner was the Wounded Warrior Project. Through the efforts of Flancer’s Incredible Sandwiches and Pizzeria, its patrons and sponsors, over $33,000 was raised to help wounded veterans. Jeff Flancer stated, “I want to thank all our sponsors, our customers and all of my staff. This wouldn’t have been possible without all of their efforts and support!”
